About The Role

We are seeking an experienced AI & MLOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team in Hannover. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and deploying cutting‑edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that enhance our energy infrastructure and services. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable AI software solutions, managing machine learning pipelines for model deployment and monitoring, and integrating AI functionalities into our existing systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to develop APIs and architectures that facilitate data and AI integration, ensuring compliance with established standards for model governance and software quality. Additionally, you will implement modern DevOps and MLOps practices on Microsoft Azure to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our AI applications. Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a completed Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable field. You bring several years of professional experience in developing, optimizing, and deploying AI, machine learning, or NLP applications in production environments. You are well‑versed in building and managing AI models, with a proven track record of successful deployment and operation. Familiarity with classical data science techniques such as predictive modeling, forecasting, and recommendation systems is essential. Experience with frameworks and tools for Large Language Model applications, such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or Semantic Kernel, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Python, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines forms the core of your development toolkit. You have practical experience working with cloud‑native AI and ML services, ideally in Microsoft Azure, though AWS experience is also valuable. Your approach is structured and solution‑oriented, with a high degree of responsibility and excellent command of English, both written and spoken. A passion for innovative technology and continuous learning is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize software solutions that incorporate AI and machine learning technologies, ensuring their results are reliable, scalable, and ready for production deployment.
• Design, build, and maintain machine learning pipelines for model management, testing, deployment, monitoring, and experiment tracking, transitioning prototypes into operational systems.
• Implement AI APIs and Large Language Model–based applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality within existing and new systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop APIs and architecture frameworks that support AI functionalities and data integration, adhering to industry standards for software development and model governance.
• Apply modern DevOps and MLOps practices on Microsoft Azure to deploy, operate, and automate AI and ML applications, ensuring operational stability and scalability.
• Support internal and external data scientists and engineers by sharing best practices in software development and assisting in bringing ML solutions into production environments.
• Contribute to agile development cycles by refining architectural principles and incorporating emerging technologies into our AI and machine learning landscape.
• Evaluate new technologies, develop prototypes, and support the implementation of secure, ethical, and data privacy–compliant AI solutions aligned with industry standards and societal expectations.
