About The Role

The Cyber Security Test Engineer role at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is a vital position within the engineering team, focusing on ensuring the security and integrity of IT, OT, and AI systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and analyzing vulnerability assessments and security tests to identify potential weaknesses and vulnerabilities. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define security requirements, develop testing protocols, and implement security standards early in the development lifecycle, embodying the principles of Security by Design. Additionally, the engineer will contribute to enhancing the team's cybersecurity awareness through training sessions and workshops. The position offers flexibility, including options for reduced weekly hours and tailored responsibilities, accommodating diverse work-life balance needs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technical field. Certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent in cybersecurity and software testing are highly desirable. The candidate should have solid experience with testing tools like Nmap, Nessus, and Burp Suite, as well as test management platforms such as JIRA. A thorough understanding of the threat landscape and security risks associated with interconnected IT, OT, and AI systems is essential. Prior experience in vulnerability assessments and cybersecurity analysis, especially within complex system environments, is required. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and research methodologies are crucial. Fluency in both German and English, along with excellent communication skills, team orientation, and a structured, independent work approach, are also necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate security assessments, including vulnerability scans and penetration tests, on IT, OT, and AI systems to identify security gaps and weaknesses.




• Conduct comprehensive software testing, including functional, regression, and integration tests, with a focus on security aspects to ensure high-quality and secure software delivery.




• Assist in defining security requirements and standards, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into the development process from the outset (Security by Design).




• Design and facilitate training sessions and workshops on cybersecurity and software testing to enhance team awareness and competence in security best practices.




• Collaborate with development teams to implement security controls and recommendations based on assessment findings.




• Stay updated on evolving cybersecurity threats, tools, and techniques to continuously improve testing methodologies and security measures.
