Overview
In this role you will support LC column manufacturing by focusing on silica production process engineering and equipment design for silica functionalization. You will collaborate with Chemistry, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to drive operational excellence through process optimization and capital project execution. Your work improves safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing capacity while ensuring reliable automation of chemical processing systems. Verantwortungsbereiche
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for silica manufacturing operations used in HPLC column production
- Support silica functionalization processes and drive continuous improvements with Chemistry and Production teams
- Lead and/or support cross-functional capital projects to improve safety, capacity, quality, reliability, and financial performance
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and execution timelines
- Develop equipment requirements, technical specifications, and design documentation with process engineering and chemistry teams
- Lead design reviews and project meetings with stakeholders across Production, Engineering, Maintenance, H&S, and Workplace Services
- Present project updates, recommendations, risks, and milestones to management
- Participate in equipment cut sheet reviews, facility layout reviews, and P&ID design reviews
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Provide engineering support to maintenance on equipment reliability, repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance initiatives
- Support validation, qualification, and commissioning activities for new equipment and processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean and problem-solving methodologies
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, or related engineering field
- 4+ years in manufacturing engineering in chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, analytical instrumentation, or related environment
- Experience supporting manufacturing processes, equipment design, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of chemical processing systems, mechanical equipment, and industrial practices
- Experience managing engineering projects with budget and schedule responsibility
