As a System Engineer and Project Manager you will play an essential role in the maintenance and modernisation of Agroscope's IT systems. You will gain insights into numerous research‑related areas of activity and make use of your experience and skills.

Specifying and implementing key components of the IT infrastructure, including HPC clusters, containerisation solutions and Cloud services.
Defining and making available application and system environments on Windows and Linux platforms, bearing in mind the specific requirements of the scientific users.
Technical Project Head in a complex and heterogeneous environment.
Collating with research teams to resolve complex problems.
This makes you unique
Solid background in IT, gained through higher education or equivalent professional experience, supplemented by training in project management.
Excellent knowledge of IT infrastructure and of Linux/Windows operating systems. Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or AHV.
Experience with workload managers (e.g. SLURM) and high‑performance computing (HPC) environments. Good programming skills (e.g. Python, Bash shell) for administration and automation tasks.
Knowledge of version control (e.g. Git), configuration management tools and containerisation are additional assets for this role.
Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and a very good command of written and spoken English.
