AI Futures has been engaged to find a BI Analyst/BI Engineer for a Frankfurt-based active asset management firm. This is a hands-on BI hire at the intersection of reporting, data engineering, and business process optimisation - supporting a Controlling function moving from manual, spreadsheet-driven reporting to self-serve, automated BI.
The company
A real estate investment and asset manager focused on Germany and the wider DACH region, with €3.5bn+ in assets under management, 1.7m+ sqm of space under management nationwide, and seven real estate funds spanning residential, office, logistics, and micro-/student-living. Their client base ranges from high-net-worth private investors and family offices through to insurers, pension schemes, and church endowments - relationships measured in decades, not quarters.
The role
As a BI Analyst/BI Engineer you will take ownership of Power BI reporting for the Controlling team, who currently have no capacity to build this themselves. You’ll work directly alongside the BI Engineering Lead, who is building out this function from the ground up.
This is not a backfill into an established reporting team. You’ll turn scattered spreadsheets and manual processes into structured dashboards, clean data models, and a BI function the rest of the business can actually rely on.
What you’ll do
- Introduce and develop Power BI solutions for the Controlling team
- Build dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses
- Optimise underlying database structures in partnership with IT
- Analyse and model business processes to identify optimisation potential
- Contribute to wider digitisation initiatives across the business
- Work closely with Controlling and other departments to understand reporting needs
What you’ll bring
- ~3 years' experience, ideally in Business Intelligence or Controlling
- Strong Power BI skills and confident MS Office use (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable working with SQL and relational databases
- Experience analysing and modelling business processes
- Experience with data modelling and entity-relationship design
- Strong analytical ability, a structured approach, and genuine problem-solving instinct
- Collaborative, communicative, comfortable working across departments
- Python, APIs, REST, or ETL tooling
- Experience with additional BI tools (e.g. Tableau) and data visualisation techniques
