Head of Data & Analytics

AI Futures has been exclusively retained to find a Head of Data & Analytics to lead a growing team and drive a new data strategy within a market-leading retail company. With over 4,500 locations across Europe and annual revenues exceeding €14B, the business is at the early stages of its data transformation journey, investing heavily in AI, advanced analytics, and digitalization.

This is a hands-off leadership role with direct impact on business strategy. You will work across departments to define and implement AI-driven data solutions, ensuring teams can generate their own reporting and make faster, data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Data & Analytics Team (14 members), providing both technical and disciplinary guidance.
• Develop and implement data & AI strategy
• Drive AI and data initiatives across retail, logistics, e-commerce, finance and HR departments
• Champion innovation and creative change, introducing cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions to enhance business intelligence.
• Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical senior stakeholders.
• Build proof-of-concepts and measure business impact, securing buy-in for new data-driven initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For

• 5+ years in a leadership role within Data & Analytics
• Experience in AI, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making in industries like Retail, Finance, or Logistics.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred); Databricks experience is a strongly preferred requirement
• Background in BI & Data Warehousing, with experience using Qlik Sense or similar tools.
• Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
• Fluent in German and willing to travel 1 Week a month to HQ in Lower Saxony

The successful candidate will receive a compensation package of €110k-€140k
