AI Transformation Lead - €5bn AUM Private Equity Firm
AI Futures are partnered on the Search for an AI Transformation Lead at a Pan-European Private Equity team scaling a new unit in Munich. They are known for backing B2B software and technology companies with capital, operational expertise and a long-term view, helping them become European category leaders.
AI is now a core part of their value creation approach, and we are hiring a leader to drive it across the portfolio. You will own a segment of the Funds assets, and drive operational excellence and innovative AI transformation topics, alongside the rest of this new operational team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the AI agenda for a vertical of the portfolio as the main AI contact for portfolio leadership
- Work with CEOs, CTOs and CFOs to assess AI maturity and build prioritised roadmaps tied to value creation plans
- Lead operational AI programmes across support, sales, engineering, finance and back office, focused on measurable EBITDA impact
- Advise on AI-enabled products, pricing and go-to-market
- Build a scalable AI playbook for use across the portfolio
- Assess AI opportunities and risks in due diligence for new investments
- Manage AI vendor and partner relationships, including portfolio-wide agreements
- Track and report value delivered to the investment committee and boards
- Advise on AI governance, data readiness and compliance, including the EU AI Act
Key Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in technology or AI transformation, from consulting, a PE operating team or a senior role in a software company
- Track record of delivering enterprise AI or automation programmes with clear business impact
- Strong practical knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, agentic workflows and automation in B2B settings
- Commercial mindset, linking AI initiatives to revenue, margin and valuation
- Credibility and influence with C-level executives and boards
- Solid understanding of B2B software and SaaS business models
- Structured and hands-on, able to set strategy and deliver it
- Willing to travel across DACH and Europe
