The opportunity
A fast-growing, venture-backed Munich startup deploying coordinated fleets of quadrupeds, wheeled robots and drones for security and industrial inspection. As a founding Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer, you will take the AMR fleet from the lab to customer sites, own deployments end to end, and feed what you learn in the field straight back into the product.
Role
- Lead on-site deployments at customer security and industrial sites
- Install, calibrate and commission robots, sensors and networking
- Debug across the full stack, from hardware to ROS 2, navigation and connectivity
- Be the technical point of contact for customers during pilots and rollouts
- Help build the deployment playbook the company will scale on
Requirements
- Hands-on experience deploying AMRs in real customer environments (essential)
- ROS / ROS 2, Linux and Python or C++
- Comfort with sensors (LiDAR, RGB, depth, thermal), electronics and field troubleshooting
- Understanding of SLAM, localisation and path planning
- German at B1 or above, fluent English and a valid driving licence
- Based in Munich, or willing to relocate
- Forward deployed, field application or customer-facing engineering experience
Travel
Two to four trips per month, roughly 50% on customer sites across Germany.
On offer
€80,000 to €110,000 base plus founding-level equity, and a genuine founding seat working directly with the founders.
