About the Position:
The incumbent will serve as a Supply Management Specialist, HQ US AFRICOM Office of the Commander, J0 Chief of Staff, HQ Commandant. Oversees technical supply support work and performs a variety of administrative work related to property accountability, maintenance of authorization documents, the distribution, visibility, and transportation of assets, tracking repair and returned property, and providing planning and administrative guidance to the staff. Term Appointment NTE 3 years – Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) providing technical assistance and guidance in the interpretation and implementation of directives, policies, (2) determining improvements in policies, plans, methods, procedures, systems, or techniques of a supply program; AND 3) developing a budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
