Overview Join our team in Basel as a
Operations Associate Air Export
and ensure smooth, compliant operations for our customers. In this role, you’ll implement and maintain customer‑specific work processes and procedures while managing assigned administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us deliver exceptional service and uphold our standards.
Responsibilities
Dealing with Customer enquiries
Preparing spot quotations and obtaining rates
Receive and review orders as per customer requirements as per AITs GDP Policy assuring product safety
Shipment preparation and transaction as per current and valid Policies, Processes and Guidelines (see QMS)
Immediate Non‑Conformity handling assuring product safety and customer satisfaction
Documentation compliance as per required international conventions e.g. Air, Road, Ocean and or Customs formalities
Shipment invoicing within given timelines and document distribution
Check and accept incoming invoices and charges
Finalize shipment accounting and file closure
Ensure that within the country all internal and external customer reports/analysis/information are performed / established (according to valid SOPs and/or to internal guidelines)
Coordinate area performance issues resolution
Coordinate/ address specific customer requirements within AIT Operations as per valid Policies
Shared responsibility with the TLs to manage the ad‑hoc quotations requested by customer
Handle additional tasks according to specific customer SOP requirements
Support resolution of local NCR’s, complaints, claims
Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable)
Qualifications
Completed training in freight forwarding
Eventually completed trainings and professional courses in the field of export, DG (Dangerous Goods)
Min. 2 years of professional experience in the commercial area of export air freight ideally in the Pharmaceutical sector
Expertise in GDP related quality assurance
Ability to work in a team
Responsibility and reliability
Good organizational skills
Fluent oral and written English and German
Additional (major) European languages would be an asset
Experience in the use of a freight forwarding software
