Join our Cloud Networking Products team!
We are a team of 12 software engineers specializing in networking software. The team is self-organizing and can impact product requirements and decisions. As part of Akamai\’s Cloud Compute team, we enable customers to secure and isolate their resources and workloads on the Akamai Connected Cloud by designing and implementing networking products such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Firewall, and VLAN. This role offers a unique opportunity to write production-quality software in the networking domain.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Akamai\’s growing cloud offerings, leveraging your skills in system design, programming, and debugging. You must have a passion to get things done quickly and get them done right.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Helping build out cloud platform functionality that sets up, manages, and protects networking in the Akamai Connected Cloud.
- Building the core backend software components in Go, and building our frontend API in Python.
- Working on and extending our local Linux container network development environment.
- Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high-quality code in close collaboration with your team.
- Working closely with local peers and coordinating with teams globally as part of building new features or dealing with bugs from users.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have solid skills in writing, testing, and understanding complex computer software.
- Have experience with object-oriented programming languages.
- Have experience or an interest in developing in Python and/or Go.
- Be able to work productively with team members to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative manner.
