Head of Finance & Operations (m/w/d) in Berlin

Your mission alcemy is on a mission to keep 100 million tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere every year by 2030. Making concrete accounts for around 8% of global COz emissions, and our machine-learning software runs inside cement and concrete plants 24/7 to cut it - without sacrificing quality or driving up costs. We're already live in a third of Germany's cement plants and 30+ ready-mix concrete plants.

Your profile The Role As Head of Finance & Operations, you are responsible for steering and integrating all enablement functions: Finance, People, Legal/Corporate and Business Operations. You are a member of our leadership team and the central interface between management, the board and investors. Your functional focus is Finance: you translate numbers into decisions and ensure that alcemy is managed on a sound financial footing. You lead a team across Finance and People Operations and manage external partners for tax, payroll and legal.

Finance and Business Steering

• Ownership of budget, forecast and cash planning; scenarios for costs, hiring and investments
• Preparation of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, margins) and cost analyses for management decisions
• Monthly and quarterly reporting for management, board and shareholders
• Coordination of the annual financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) with tax advisors and auditors
• Further development of finance processes, controls and approvals; functional leadership of the finance team

Governance, Board and Investors

• Preparation of board meetings, shareholder resolutions and investor requests
• Internal coordination of fundraising and transaction processes, including data room and due diligence

Legal, Compliance and Business Operations

• Early identification, prioritization and management of legal matters with external counsel
• Embedding compliance processes (GDPR, AML, sanctions)
• Ownership of policies, tools and cross-functional processes

People

• Leadership of People Operations and steering of recruiting priorities
• Sparring partner for managers on people topics

What You Bring

• At least 8 years of professional experience, including several years in finance, FP&A or controlling
• Experience in a VC-backed startup or scale-up, ideally in B2B SaaS
• Confidence in budgeting, forecasting, cash planning and board reporting
• Experience with HGB financial statements and statutory audits
• Generalist understanding of people topics, German employment law, contracts and compliance
• A structured, independent way of working and the ability to execute hands-on in a small team while steering strategically
• Business-fluent German and English
• Located in Berlin, Germany
