This role combines operational execution, team leadership, and process development. /p pYou will report directly to the Technical Director of Alfa Laval Switzerland AG and actively contribute to performance, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering organization. /p h3What you’ll do /h3 h3Team Leadership Management /h3 ul liAct as the technical authority for the engineering discipline. /li liLead and develop a team of design engineers, driving documentation excellence and team growth through coaching, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration. /li liPlan and allocate work across the team to ensure timely and efficient project execution. /li liAct as the main interface between the Engineering Office and other departments for issue resolution and technical coordination (Purchasing, RD, QHSE, Sales). /li /ul h3Project Execution Technical Oversight /h3 ul liEnsure engineering deliverables meet customer specifications, contractual requirements, budget, and deadlines. /li liReview and validate design outputs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal design rules. /li liDefine, implement, and enforce design rules, best practices, and quality standards. /li liOversee the generation and consolidation of PIDs in line with process engineering inputs and project‑specific adaptations. /li /ul h3Process Improvement Standardization /h3 ul liOptimize engineering workflows by driving standardization, modularization, and automation of design activities. /li liDevelop and maintain standard design solutions. /li liSupport and lead continuous improvement initiatives proposed by the team. /li liDevelop and maintain engineering tools, databases, and drawing systems. /li /ul h3Performance Quality Management /h3 ul liDefine, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Engineering Office. /li liParticipate in project reviews, audits, and improvement initiatives. /li /ul h3What You Bring/Who you are /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. /li liMinimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or systems design within an industrial manufacturing environment (experience in cryogenic, process, or rotating equipment is a strong advantage). /li liProven experience in leading and managing a technical design team. /li liStrong understanding of PIDs, 3D layouts and applicable industrial standards. /li liProficiency in Autodesk Inventor and PDM systems (Vault) is a strong asset. /li liAbility to combine hands‑on technical expertise with effective leadership and organizational skills. /li liKnowledge in pressure, Atex and/or IECex equipment is a strong advantage. /li liStructured, proactive, and continuous‑improvement‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills. /li liProficient in Microsoft Office tools. /li liFluency in English and French (written and spoken). /li liStrong Leadership: Motivate and empower your team to achieve their best. /li li“Yes We Can” Mindset: Approach challenges with positivity and determination. /li liCustomer Orientation: Always put the customer first and strive to exceed expectations. /li liAlignment with Alfa Laval Values: Embrace innovation, teamwork, and sustainability in everything you do. /li /ul h3What’s in it for you? /h3 pWe offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value.
