Technical Program Manager (Data Center IT Infrastructure Deployment)

Alibaba Cloud Data Center team is looking for a passionate, results‑oriented candidate to drive the implementation of data center projects. He/she should thrive in collaborative, cross‑functional environments to manage both internal and external stakeholders to tackle the challenges in designing and building Alibaba data center IT infrastructures. The program manager is responsible for project oversight and review in IT infrastructures deployment by providing direction, coordination, control on the team to ensure consistency with global technical standards and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own the deployment of Alibaba overseas data center IT infrastructures.
• Partner with several stakeholders such as capacity planning, network, engineering, operation, procurement, supply chain management and finance team to ensure the successful delivery of IT infrastructures.
• Manage multiple vendors to track progress, identify risks and solve problems throughout the project. Be responsible for the project delivery in targeted schedule, cost and quality.
• Own initiatives to standardize global process of project management and improve the deployment methodologies to optimize the schedule.
• Identify defects or waste in our deployment processes, and drive new processes and software automation to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring without posing risk to availability.

Key requirements

• Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Project Management or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience managing large‑scale Data Centers projects.
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to think and react in a high energy, fast paced environment.
• Significant experience successfully delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Bilingual in Chinese will be preferred as the role needs to coordinate with the HQ in China.
