The Global Topic Owner (GTO) is a pivotal role within Compliance Function and Allianz Partners, reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. This position decides compliance direction and assures compliance effective support for the company\’s global objectives on specific Compliance Risk Area topics (as per the AzP Compliance Policy) for Allianz Partners (primary responsibility & contact within AzP). The GTO is tasked with steering the design and architecture of compliance programs, managing oversight of functional areas, and leading compliance activities across the AzP Group for these dedicated topics. This role requires a strategic vision and leadership to harmonize compliance efforts globally and actively liaise with global business functions and key stakeholders (top management/board members) to drive them in understanding complex compliance obligations and how to best embed them into day to day processes.
What you do
Compliance Monitoring and Advisory
- Harmonizes strategically compliance tasks, procedures and tools for the dedicated topics to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the entire organization.
- Monitors relevant legal/ regulatory/ Allianz SE Group developments for the dedicated topics and assesses impact, and providing strategic guidance to the organization.
Risk Management & Quality Assurance
- Leads the steering of topic-related risk assessments and program maturity evaluations in collaboration with business functions, ensuring that the organization remains proactive in identifying and mitigating risks.
- Oversees internal and external audits and compliance reviews, ensuring the highest standards, safeguarding the organization’s integrity and reputation.
Standards/ Policies/ Guidelines/ Subject Matter Expertise
- Instills a robust compliance ethic within AzP Group, ensuring that the organization fully recognizes and supports the critical role of compliance.
- Defines group-wide policies, standards, and functional rules, consulting with relevant AzP compliance members and business areas within AzP and Allianz Group to ensure alignment with internal and external requirements.
Compliance Trainings
- Guarantees the adequacy and strategic alignment of compliance training, including content, design, and execution, to enhance understanding and compliance across the organization.
- Ensures that training initiatives are effective and impactful, fostering a culture of compliance.
Compliance Reporting/Investigations
- Delivers timely and strategic reporting inputs to the AzP Chief Compliance Officer.
- Supervises and performs high-level compliance investigations and inquiries, collaborating with Legal, Audit, and other stakeholders to address complex issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead and Manage Global Compliance Team
- Evaluates and lead internal policy or process adjustments, including their design and implementation, while managing relevant line and project resources.
- Steers global efforts related to the topic program, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements, and driving compliance excellence across the organization.
- Responsible for organization’s commitment to ethical standards and regulatory adherence.
What you bring
- Law degree or equivalent.
- Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Operational Excellence).
- Proven experience in a similar role, strong compliance understanding and leading of transformation projects.
- Strong experience and knowledge of insurance/ assistance business.
- Experience with working with business stakeholders, facilitating review of processes, complex enquiries and ensure compliance controls are in place.
- Strong process/ analytical skills and excellent stakeholder management on all levels.
- Experience working with senior executives to influence on embedded compliance controls.
- Strong subject matter expertise and confident communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal disciplines relevant to compliance risk areas, including criminal and corporate law.
- Advanced understanding of legal and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions where AzP operates.
- Strong process skills, with expertise in OPEX or similar methodologies.
