Intern ESG Solutions Specialist (f/m/d)

The ESG Solutions Specialist supports AllianzGI’s ambition of being a market shaper in sustainable investing. The Sustainability Methodologies and Analytics Team oversees AllianzGI’s ESG integration, sustainability scoring methodologies and development of the analytics dataset for climate strategy, KPI target setting and SDG measurement. The team also innovates with state-of-the-art technology and ESG data, including AI, NLP and new forms of data to support our ESG research team, develop new methodologies across asset classes, deliver innovative tools for our investment platforms and elaborate client-oriented solutions for the future.

The ESG Solutions Specialist will help develop ESG methodologies / frameworks (including climate change / biodiversity / inclusive capitalism) with strong processes and models. The role requires a solution mindset to develop models and technical solutions that can support Governance & Business analytics, Sustainability and investment teams.

The candidate will be able to work closely with investment teams on one side and data & technology teams on the other. The candidate should be familiar with how ESG can pragmatically be integrated into investment teams by asset classes and strategies (including private markets) as well as find and suggest new KPIs and to move forward mandatory regulatory reporting as well as client reporting. The specialist will need to partner with operational, technical, and project management teams to rollout ESG solutions. Additionally, the role will require project management skills to develop roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables. The position is based in Frankfurt am Main.

What you will do

• Foster ESG integration within the firm across asset classes
• Ensure information sharing across the firm around sustainability data and methodologies
• Develop, test, document sustainability methodologies across several strategic pillars
• Support team with running methodologies data update (e.g. computation of ratings, Climate KPIs)
• Support and coordinate with sustainability research team on data requirements
• Support and coordinate with our sustainability data stewardship team on methodological questions
• Participate in data providers reviews and meetings
• Participate in industrialization efforts (appropriate, robust, and scalable processes) and tools development in coordination with IT
• Ensure state-of-the-art methodology for ESG client and regulatory reporting including business support for respective IT-engine
• Support update of team internal Sustainability PowerBI reports
• Contribute to the development of our proprietary sustainability tool SusIE as well as PowerBI report development for specific use cases.

What you bring

• First experience in a similar role appreciated
• Sound understanding of ESG as applied to asset management operations and technology
• IT coding & development skills mandatory (Python, Databricks, SQL)
• DataViz skills highly appreciated (PowerBI, Databricks)
• Strong team spirit and ability to work in an international environment with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
