Job Purpose/Role
The team of AIM Investment Management Life/Health in Stuttgart is responsible for the portfolios of the German Life and Health insurance companies of Allianz. As such, we work together with our colleagues within the global AIM network and asset managers in developing our investment strategy and adapting it to the needs of the portfolios we manage. As part of the investment management team for the market leading life insurance business in Germany, you will develop models and tools to analyze the asset-liability position, develop recommendations for the strategic asset allocation (SAA) and calculate stress tests. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an investment team managing a truly global portfolio with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop functional specifications for the database application, which provides asset data input for the cash flow models of German L/H OEs.
- Perform ALM analyses for German L/H OEs, derive SAA recommendations and translate SAA into capital market indices as benchmarks for tactical asset allocation.
- Calculate stress tests (BaFin, DAV, internal).
- Improve existing analysis tools, automate data-driven processes and improve their resilience.
- Contribute to the global Allianz community with a focus on knowledge and best practice sharing. Work together with risk and actuarial functions and IT providers.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- Master’s degree in (financial) mathematics, economics, computer science, physics or other quantitative areas.
- Know-how of fundamentals in finance, financial modelling, accounting and investment instruments, preferably 1-3 years of work experience in investment management or similar sectors.
- Interest in the financial sector (e.g. banking, investment, insurance).
- IT and programming skills in languages like Python, R, SQL.
- Team player, ready to take over responsibility, passionate about working with data and programming, with a getting-things-done mentality.
- Fluency in German.
