Tasks
- German-speaking contact for the client: hotline, email and tickets
- 2nd- and 3rd-level support for Java runtimes on Windows and Linux
- Own priority 1 and 2 incidents through to resolution, within the agreed response and restoration times
- Analyse log and configuration files supplied by the client (no remote access to client systems, no on-site work)
- Assess quarterly security updates and critical vulnerabilities; inform the client
- Release new packages on the download portal after checksum and malware checks
- Maintain documentation in German: installation guides, security documentation, change and test management
- Manage the support team in Hyderabad and monitor response and restoration times
Requirements
- Several years of experience with Java/OpenJDK in operations or support
- JVM troubleshooting: GC logs, heap and thread dumps, Java Flight Recorder and Java Mission Control
- Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022: MSI installation (including silent), software distribution
- Linux (Ubuntu, SLES): tar.gz and RPM installation
- TLS 1.2/1.3 and certificates in Java
- A plus: Java Access Bridge with screen readers (JAWS, SuperNova, Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Scripting: PowerShell, Bash or Python
- Working with ticket systems and SLAs (ITIL knowledge a plus)
- A plus: experience with public‑sector clients
- Careful, reliable communication in German, written and spoken
