At The Compleat Food Group (TCFG), we’re investing heavily in data to drive smarter decision-making across the business. As part

of this, we’re implementing a Trade Promotion Management (TPM) system (UpClear BluePlanner) - and we’re looking for a Data

Engineer to play a key role in making it work.

This is a hands-on role where you'll build and manage the data pipelines that power forecasting, ROI analysis, accruals, and

promotional performance across the Group.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and managing data pipelines from multiple sources including ERP, CRM, POS/syndicated data, and finance systems
  • Integrating data into TPM platforms and ensuring seamless connectivity
  • Designing and implementing data models to support promotions, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Transforming and harmonising data across systems (products, customers, promotions)
  • Applying business logic around ROI, uplift, baseline vs incremental performance
  • Ensuring data quality through validation rules, monitoring, and error handling
  • Automating pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or similar
  • Working closely with analysts and business stakeholders to refine outputs and troubleshoot issues

What we're looking for:

  • Strong experience in data engineering within mid-to-large environments
  • Expertise in modern data platforms and cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
  • Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g. dbt, ADF, Airflow, Informatica)
  • Strong SQL and programming skills (Python, Spark)
  • Experience working with data lakehouse architectures (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Good understanding of data modelling, integration, and performance optimisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to TPM or planning tools
  • Experience with real-time data streaming (Kafka, Event Hub)
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code for data pipelines

You'll be part of a growing business where data is becoming central to how we operate. This is a great opportunity to work on a high-impact transformation project and shape how data is used across the Group.

If you enjoy building scalable data solutions and want to be at the heart of a major system implementation - we'd love to hear from you.
