WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS As Senior Portfolio Manager, you define and drive Alpian’s investment strategy, ensuring it delivers strong, consistent outcomes for clients while supporting the bank’s growth.
You lead and develop the investment team, setting clear priorities, fostering collaboration, and building a high‑performance culture aligned with Alpian’s ambitions. You ensure the team’s continuous development, elevate investment capabilities, and promote excellence in execution and decision‑making.
You play a central role at the intersection of investment expertise, technology, and client experience, building scalable investment solutions, shaping our market positioning, and representing Alpian externally. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on our product offering, client trust, and long‑term success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the firm’s investment activities and investment platform (discretionary and advisory portfolios, 3a and vested benefits)
Lead and develop the Investment initiatives and team, fostering high performance and strong collaboration between departments
Manage multi‑asset class portfolios, ensuring robust performance and risk management. Lead portfolio construction, including asset allocation and optimization techniques
Define and implement Alpian’s investment strategy across asset classes and client segments
Contribute to the evolution of the investment infrastructure, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency. Act as a hands‑on leader across investment, operational, and technical topics.
Drive the development of investment solutions and product pipeline aligned with client needs
Translate market views into clear investment positioning and client‑facing communication
Influence key business decisions related to investments (e.g. guidelines, fees, capacity, onboarding of solutions)
Ensure robust investment governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
Foster strong collaboration with Product, Technology, Risk, and Client teams
Represent Alpian externally through client interactions, media, and industry events
YOUR PROFILE Must-have
10+ years of experience in investment management, portfolio construction, or asset allocation
Proven track record managing multi‑asset portfolios (funds and/or ETFs)
Strong leadership experience, with the ability to lead teams and drive change
Deep understanding of financial markets, risk management, and investment processes
Comfort with data‑driven approaches
Solid knowledge of the investment ecosystem, infrastructure, and trading systems. Experience building or contributing to investment platforms or tools
Experience in private banking, wealth management, or asset management
Fluency in English and French (C1 level required), German as strong asset/Italian as a plus
Nice-to-have
CFA, CAIA or FRM qualification
Experience in a digital, fintech, or scaling environment
Previous experience with Temenos
Good coding (e.g. Python), good knowledge of optimization technique.
