Alpine Business Consulting
About the role
Alpine Business Consulting provides clarity to organizations that have lost control of their performance management systems. Often, we find companies that have spent millions on software only to end up with broken reports and incorrect data. We are looking for a Junior Reporting Analyst to help us fix these issues. This is a permanent, full-time position that is fully remote, allowing you to work from your own environment while supporting complex projects.
Currently, our team is working with a logistics firm to overhaul their distribution and financial reporting. You will assist our senior consultants in cleaning messy data and ensuring that every report pulls from a single source of truth. This is a typical entry level position where you will learn how to configure software properly rather than just patching symptoms.
What you will do
In this role, your daily work will revolve around data integrity and system configuration. You will spend a significant amount of time in Excel and various analytics tools helping us organize information. Common tasks include:
  • Reviewing existing reports to identify where numbers do not match and finding the root cause of the error.
  • Loading and validating data sets to ensure they align with the master records of the logistics firm we are supporting.
  • Assisting with the configuration of dashboards so that finance teams can see their performance metrics clearly.
  • Writing clear, step-by-step documentation for clients so they can manage their own systems after our engagement ends.
  • Participating in virtual team calls to discuss project milestones and identify potential risks in the data flow.
  • Testing new report formats to ensure they are easy to read and provide the specific answers the client needs.
  • Assisting with the cleanup of legacy data that has become cluttered or redundant over time.
What we need from you
We do not expect you to be an expert yet, but we do need someone who is comfortable with numbers and very careful with details. The following attributes will help you succeed:
  • A basic understanding of how data is structured in spreadsheets or databases.
  • Comfort using Excel, including simple formulas and pivot tables.
  • The ability to follow instructions closely when configuring new software settings.
  • Clear writing skills to help produce technical guides and handover notes.
  • A curiosity about how businesses operate and why accurate reporting matters to a logistics firm.
  • Reliable communication habits in a fully remote environment.
  • A willingness to ask questions when a task is unclear rather than guessing.
  • Some familiarity with financial terms like revenue, expenses, and margins is helpful but not required.
What we offer
Working at Alpine Business Consulting means learning from professionals who have spent decades in the field. This position is paid and offers a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level role in the data analytics market. Benefits include:
  • A permanent, full-time contract with the stability that comes from a long-term role.
  • A 100 percent remote work model that respects your time and eliminates the need to travel.
  • Direct mentorship from senior consultants who value teaching and transparency.
  • Exposure to complex enterprise systems that are standard across many large industries.
  • A work culture that values getting the job done right the first time over corporate politics.
  • The chance to work on high-stakes projects with a team that avoids typical corporate fluff.
Working at Alpine Business Consulting
We are a specialized team that values fixed-price transparency and predictability. We do not believe in using junior staff as a way to bill more hours: instead, we bring you into the fold to teach you the right way to build systems. We avoid flashiness and focus on results. Our consultants have spent years fixing failed implementations, so we have a deep appreciation for clean data and simple, effective configuration.
When we finish a project, our goal is to leave the client in a better position than we found them. This requires great documentation and a system that actually works. As a Junior Reporting Analyst, you will be a vital part of making sure that happens. We want our clients to trust the reports they see every morning, and your work ensures that the data behind those reports is solid and reliable. This role provides real-world experience that goes far beyond theoretical study.
