VIE - Validation EngineerDate: 5 Oct 2026Company: AlstomPurpose of the RoleThe Validation Engineer – Train Level is responsible for preparing and executing verification and validation (V&V) activities at train level for Asset Life Management (ALM) projects, including modernization, retrofit and life‑extension programs.The role ensures that the modernized train complies with system requirements, safety, quality and customer expectations, in line with Alstom processes, railway standards and project objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement the train-level validation strategy for ALM projects, in accordance with the V‑cycle and Alstom V&V methodologyAnalyze system, subsystem and interface requirements, including:Legacy configurationsModernized or upgraded solutionsPrepare, maintain and deliver V&V documentation:Train-Level Validation PlanTest Strategy, Test Procedures and Test CasesValidation Reports and evidenceRequirements-to-tests traceabilityPlan, coordinate and execute train-level tests:Functional and integration tests on test benchesStatic and dynamic tests on trainOn-site, lab or depot testing activitiesCoordinate closely with:System Engineering, Safety EngineerInstallation & CommissioningProject teamIdentify, analyze and manage anomalies and non-conformities:Root cause analysisCorrective action follow-upSupport to closure and validation sign‑offParticipate in formal project reviews:Test Readiness ReviewsValidation ReviewsCustomer or third-party assessmentsEnsure compliance with:Alstom Quality and Engineering processesApplicable railway standards and contractual requirementsContribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement for ALM validation activitiesQualifications & ExperienceEducationMaster’s degree or Engineering degree in:Electrical / Electronic EngineeringSystems Engineering, Automation or equivalentProfessional ExperienceSeveral years of experience inVerification & ValidationorSystem / Train-Level Engineeringin the railway domainTrain-level testing and validationModernization, retrofit or legacy fleet projects (ALM experience is an advantage)Technical SkillsGood understanding ofrolling stock train-level systems, such as:TCMSTraction and BrakingDoors, HVACInterfaces with signalling and auxiliary systemsStrong knowledge of:V‑cycle development and V&V processesSystem integration and interface managementFamiliarity with railway standards:EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129Ability to read, understand and apply:System specificationsTrain architecturesInterface control documentsExperience with engineering and V&V tools (depending on project context):Requirements management tools (DOORS)Test management and defect tracking toolsStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsStructured, rigorous and quality‑oriented mindsetAbility to work autonomously while coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teamsGood communication skills with internal stakeholders and customersWillingness to work on‑site during testing and commissioning phasesProactive attitude and sense of accountabilityLanguagesFluent in French and English (mandatory)Additional languages (e.g. German, Italian) are an asset depending on project environmentAdditional AssetsExperience with legacy fleets or operational constraintsKnowledge of Safety or RAM processesAvailability for occasional to recurrent project-related travels #J-18808-Ljbffr
