Could you be the full-time Head of Project Engineering Onboard Signalling (f/m/d) in Berlin we’re looking for?

Your Future Role

Ernst-Reuter-Platz 6, in the heart of Berlin, is home to Alstom’s DACH regional headquarters. Up to 500 colleagues of more than 40 nationalities work here, focusing on project management, business development, and regional strategy, with a special emphasis on rail digitalization. Our product line Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) answers worldwide mobility challenges for passengers and freight transportation through digitalization. You’ll report to Tomar Siddhant and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look for you to:

1. Lead and develop the engineering team of 150-170 members, for projects in full compliance with the signalling strategy.
2. Responsible for the deployment of cutting-edge engineering solutions within Railway safety systems.
3. Define and implement the technical delivery plan for the site.
4. Ensure the application of methods and tools in the field of signaling technology and increasing efficiency.
5. Lead by example, by going the extra mile to deliver running projects.
6. Manage skills development plans with HR support.
7. Coordinate/allocate technical resources to tenders and projects.
8. Manage, plan, monitor and report on the workload of project engineers in the field.
9. Support and lead the development of a result-oriented working culture environment.
10. Collaborate with the organizations responsible for the platform/solution/design.
11. Assist the proposal team in defining the proposal strategy, technical solution, return on experience, process, and optimizations.
12. Participate in the main tender examinations for the tenders.
13. Responsible for technical negotiations with customers.
14. Represent Alstom Engineering on site in the local working groups for signalling technology or in tender or project meetings with customers.

All About You

1. Degree in engineering or comparable (e.g. engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, railway technology).
2. Several years of professional experience in project engineering management are mandatory.
3. Experience in the field of signalling technology, preferably onboard technology ETCS.
4. Experience in cost and planning control in the technical field.
5. PM certification desirable.
6. Very good teamwork and communication skills.
7. Fluent language skills in German and English are mandatory.
