Salary: €50,000 – €55,000 gross annually

Location: Hamburg or Cologne

Altius Talent is hiring on behalf of an international freight forwarder for the position of Accounting Clerk based in Hamburg or Cologne.

What to Expect

• Financial Accounting: Preparation of financial accounts, including VAT returns, business evaluations, monthly reports, and statistical filings for the European branches.
• Accounting & Payroll: Act as the direct contact for accounting and payroll matters.
• Correspondence: Liaise with agents, clients, service providers, public offices, and authorities in both German and English.
• Payment Processes: Handle dunning procedures, payment transactions, invoicing, and related tasks for all branches in Germany and across Europe.
• Administration: Take on additional administrative responsibilities as required.

Your Profile

• Qualifications: Completed training as a Tax Clerk (Steuerfachangestellte ) or a comparable qualification, with solid professional knowledge in accounting and financial reporting.
• Expertise: Experience in cost accounting, reporting to international parent and sister companies, and strong knowledge of corporate, trade, and VAT tax matters.
• Skills: Strong team player with flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently.
• IT & Language Skills: Proficient in DATEV and MS Office, with excellent English skills; German fluency required.
• Experience: Working within a freight forwarder/logistics organisation is desirable
