Senior Ocean Export Operator in Hannover

Salary: Up to €68,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Altius Talent is partnering with a freight forwarder looking for an experienced Sea Freight Export Operator to join its growing Hannover office.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of shipments from start to finish, building strong customer relationships and playing a hands-on role in an expanding operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sea freight export shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
• Coordinate FCL and LCL movements with shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents.
• Prepare and check export documentation, including bills of lading and shipping instructions.
• Arrange collections, monitor sailing schedules and manage shipment deadlines.
• Liaise with customs partners to ensure the necessary export clearance is completed.
• Keep customers informed throughout the shipment process and resolve operational issues.
• Handle quotations, monitor shipment costs and complete invoicing accurately.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience handling sea freight exports within a freight forwarding environment.
• Confidence managing shipments independently from A-Z.
• Strong understanding of export documentation, Incoterms and shipping procedures.
• Fluent communication skills in German and English.
• An organised, proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
• Someone who takes ownership, enjoys customer contact and works well within a team.
