Altus Partners has been retained by a market-leading PE-backed retail business to secure a proven Head of FP&A, reporting directly to the CFO.

This is a key strategic hire, offering full ownership and autonomy to lead, develop, and enhance the internal FP&A function.

The German business has revenues of €200m with positive EBITDA, and this position will be based at the company\’s HQ in Dusseldorf.

The Head of FP&A will be pivotal to executing the business’s value creation plan and working towards an exit within the next 2-3 years.

They are seeking someone with a strong track record of developing and leading high-performing FP&A teams within a fast-paced/high-growth environment.

THE ROLE :

This opportunity offers a broad and interesting remit with full ownership of the FP&A team. You will be a key strategic business partner to both the CFO and CEO.

You will be a visible on-site leader within Dusseldorf HQ, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities :

• Reporting directly to the CFO, review current FP&A processes and implement a plan to further develop and enhance internal controls and processes.
• Lead a team of 5, providing ongoing support, development, and upskilling.
• Perform financial analysis and develop internal business KPI reporting.
• Create monthly Board Packs with relevant financial analysis and commentary.
• Own internal budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and develop internal forecasting models.
• Develop internal reporting tools, KPI dashboards, and Power BI reports.
• Serve as a true business partner and strategic sounding board to the CEO, CFO, and other key stakeholders.
• Adopt a highly collaborative approach to business.

THE REQUIREMENTS :

• Relevant Head of FP&A experience.
• Proven experience in developing internal controls and processes.
• Evidence of developing and leading high-performing teams (minimum of 3-4 prior).
• Hybrid working is available, but presence in the Dusseldorf office 3 days per week is required, with additional days based on business needs.
