Key job responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence Engineer in Innovation and Design Engineering at Amazon, you will connect with engineers working at the forefront of designing new automation technologies. You will have ownership of the insights you are building for the business, and will play an integral role in tactical decision-making for machine and process design.

A day in the life

You will be at the forefront of transforming raw operational data into actionable automation insights. Your day could include: analyzing performance metrics from a new robotic storage system in the morning, to running complex queries across multiple data sources that reveal hidden patterns in equipment efficiency by mid-day. You would dive into real-time throughput data, identifying subtle anomalies that could impact system reliability, and collaborate with mechanical or controls engineers to implement data-driven solutions. By afternoon, you might build automated dashboard solutions or investigate computer vision system accuracy variations. You'll end your day collaborating with cross-functional teams, sharing data-backed insights that could revolutionize our next automation design. From initial data exploration to production deployment, your statistical expertise and innovative approaches to data visualization will be crucial in driving operational excellence across our logistics network.
