Overview
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a Principal Engagement Manager to lead the delivery of our largest and most complex Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) transformation programs. In this role, you will lead delivery quality and velocity for programs spanning several concurrent workstreams, orchestrating 50+ person teams of AWS builders, partners, and customers to deliver transformational AI, data, and enterprise modernization outcomes for the world's leading HCLS organizations. Key Responsibilities
Build and nurture trusted executive relationships (VP+), delivering strategic counsel on program direction, health, risks, and trade‑offs to inform executive decisions. Proactively manage interdependencies, mitigate risks, and drive accountability for program outcomes in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments. Orchestrate across customer lines of business, IT, and partner teams simultaneously, aligning stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and definitions of success, and escalating blockers as necessary. Define and track measurable customer business outcomes (e.g., time‑to‑market acceleration) as the north star for program success, translating technical delivery progress into executive‑ready value narratives that demonstrate ROI and inform strategic decisions. Own the program financial health, including forecasting, revenue recognition, commercial management, change request negotiation, and scope management for fixed‑price, milestone‑based delivery constructs. Lead human builder and agent builder teams effectively, establishing clear operating models and responsible AI guardrails as delivery increasingly incorporates AI‑augmented development workflows and agentic automation. Drive adoption of AI‑DLC (AI‑Driven Development Life Cycle) methodologies across delivery programs, adapting delivery models and team structures for accelerated scale and pace, establishing outcomes‑based governance frameworks for AI‑native builds, and steering multi‑agent systems at scale. Establish and enforce governance frameworks for agentic AI in delivery — including observability, cost controls, human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints, and compliance guardrails — ensuring AI‑augmented workflows remain auditable, secure, and aligned with customer regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GxP). Proactively surface ideas on how ProServe and other AWS teams can innovate to help customers achieve their goals at a faster pace and larger scale. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience in technology transformation program management, with at least 5 years leading complex, multi‑workstream delivery programs ($10M+ per year in professional services revenue) end‑to‑end, including governance, program delivery quality, and financial health. 3+ years experience in the healthcare and/or life sciences industry. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with fixed‑price, milestone‑based delivery models where scope management, risk mitigation, and financial discipline are critical to program success. Demonstrated ability to adopt and champion emerging delivery methodologies and tooling that accelerate team productivity, including experience adapting governance frameworks for new technology‑driven delivery models. Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GenAI Practitioner, and/or Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent cloud program management certifications (PMP, PgMP, SAFe). Experience managing large‑scale programs with multiple delivery partners, including governance of partner‑delivered workstreams. Strong understanding of AI/ML and data transformation programs, sufficient technical acumen to engage credibly with technical leads, ask probing questions, and make informed trade‑off decisions. Proven ability to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to VP+ executives — delivering structured program narratives, proactively framing risks and trade‑offs, and maintaining credibility through delivery challenges. Track record of building trusted relationships with senior customer executives (VP+) to influence strategic and operational decisions and managing escalation paths across complex stakeholder landscapes. Experience in software development and proficiency in AI‑DLC or equivalent AI‑accelerated development methodologies at the governance and program leadership level, including experience adapting estimation, milestone tracking, and quality assurance frameworks for AI‑native delivery models.
