Local role with global impact

In this role, you will be part of Ambu's global Test & Verification organization but will be fully allocated to the embedded Application Software Scrum Team on a day-to-day basis. The Application Software team are situated both in Ballerup and in Augsburg.

You will collaborate daily with software developers, product owners, architects, and fellow testers across our international organization. The team works in a highly collaborative and agile environment where open communication, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing are essential to our success.

As an Application Software Tester, you will contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, helping ensure that software releases meet quality, regulatory, and customer expectations.

More concretely, your work will involve the following

Plan, design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for application software

Act as the dedicated tester within the Scrum Team and actively participate in agile ceremonies

Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to clarify requirements and ensure testability

Identify, document, and track software defects

Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and risk-based testing activities

Support verification activities and documentation required for medical device software development

Continuously improve test processes, test automation, and quality practices within the team

Collaborate with colleagues across Test & Verification, Application Software, and other engineering disciplines

Suggested candidate profile

Setting you up for success is one of our cornerstones. To do so, we imagine that you have a university background within software engineering, computer science, IT, or a related technical discipline, combined with solid experience in software testing.

As a person, you are analytical, quality-focused, and proactive. You enjoy working closely with developers and stakeholders and have a strong desire to improve both products and processes.

Experience of the following is required

Relevant experience in software testing

Experience working in agile software development teams

Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test reports

Experience or knowledge of the following is highly relevant

Manual and automated testing of embedded application software

Test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Squish, GTest, pytest)

Verification and validation of medical device software

Risk-based testing and exploratory testing techniques

Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages

Tools such as Jira, GitLab, and test management platforms

CI/CD practices and automated testing pipelines

Experience with regulatory standards such as IEC 62304 or similar regulated environments

ISTQB Foundation certification is a plus

Scrum andSAFeexperience is a plus

Experience with C, C++, Linux and Qt is plus

Other requirements

English, both written and spoken, is crucial for the role

Willingness to travel to Ballerup, Denmark, up to 20 days per year

About the team

While your professional home and line management will be within the Test & Verification organization, your daily work will be fully integrated into the Application Software Scrum Team.

You will collaborate closely with software developers, architects, and the Product Owner, participating in all Scrum ceremonies and contributing as a core team member. Your priorities, tasks, and day-to-day activities will be driven by the team's objectives, with a strong focus on ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

The position is on-site and based in Augsburg, Germany, and offers extensive collaboration with Ambu's global R&D organization.

You will report to the Head of Test & Verification.
