The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Basel and the University Children's Hospital Basel are looking to fill the position of Professor of Paediatric Haematologyand Oncology.
The Faculty of Medicine Basel and the University Children's Hospital Basel(UKBB) are advertising the position of a structural clinical professorship as partof a reappointment.
Your position
You will be responsible for the clinical, operational and academic aspects of paediatric
haematology and oncology at the University Children's Hospital Basel. Asa member of the Chief Medical Staff of the University Children's Hospital Basel,you are jointly responsible for the medical management of the clinic. You will alsolead the “Pädiatrische Haematologie und Onkologie Nordwestschweiz" network, astrategic cooperation between the KSA Children's Hospital Aarau and the UKBBto ensure excellent, close-to-home care delivery in northwestern Switzerland.Your inclusive, goal-oriented understanding of leadership ensures an attractiveworking environment for academic and clinical specialists in the department.Your clinical expertise and interest in continuing medical education ensures andpromotes the up-to-date training and continuing education of paediatric interns,
residents and attending physicians as well as physicians in the context of continuing
education in paediatric hemato-oncology in accordance with the requirementsof the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF). You willlead a research group thematically anchored in paediatric hematology and oncologyand develop a fertile environment for a successful research team. A researchfocus in the area of personalized care for children and adolescents withhemato-oncological diseases is particularly welcome.
Your profile
You have broad clinical experience in paediatric hematology and oncology aswell as in general paediatrics. Expertise in the field of stem cell transplantation /cellular therapies is welcome. You have a successful research track record, includingcompetitive third-party funding and excellent scientific publications in thefield of paediatric hematology and oncology and are motivated to take advantageof the interdisciplinary research environment in Basel. Thanks to your distinctiveexpertise, your leadership and communication skills as well as your high level ofsocial competence, you will gain acceptance and trust.
