SPECTRO, a business unit of AMETEK Inc., manufactures advanced instruments and develops the best solutions for elemental analysis in a broad range of applications.

We are searching for a Manager R&D Arc/Spark-OES (m/f/d) for our headquarter in Kleve.

Responsibilities

• Own the New Product Development (NPD) projects for A/S-OES executed by R&D teams, establishing an agile network of skills and specialist capabilities for the mobile and stationary arc/spark-OES product lines.
• Lead the A/S-OES-R&D-Team, providing expertise and knowledge in this field to R&D-internal and external customers.
• Create a compelling technology roadmap to address market trends and ensure product and capabilities evolution.
• Head the R&D A/S-OES internal \“innovation accelerator/incubator\“ to de-risk projects and address/create new markets, focusing on relevant technology push factors (e.g., artificial intelligence, etc…) and their impact on future users.
• Implement NPD plans based on industry standard processes, resulting in schedule, budget and specification alignment.
• Lead external engineering partners when needed, supplementing internal core strengths with a strategic network of innovation suppliers.
• Champion an environment for conceptualization and innovation, agility and risk taking, demonstrating various innovation models from internal development, in-licensing, M&A and cross-BU teamwork.
• Promote a goal-oriented working environment through empowerment and motivation, develop, retain, and recruit outstanding talent in method development and engineering.

Skills & Qualifications

• Successful completion of a qualifying university degree in natural sciences (preferably Chemistry), Engineering or Metallurgy.
• Seasoned technical and analytical expert with deep understanding and outstanding experience in A/S-OES.
• Ready to take on scientific and technical responsibility for the Arc/Sparc-OES products, both mobile and stationary.
• Outstanding ideation & conceptualization, project management and presentation skills.
• Fluent business English.
• Willing to take the next step and \“own\“ all scientific and technical aspects of R&D A/S-OES at SPECTRO.
