Job Summary (Payment Processing):

The Business IT Process Owner (BITPO) for Payment will be responsible for overseeing the ‚Run the Bank‘ and continuous improvement of payments processes within the bank. This role requires close collaboration with business departments, third-party payment providers, and internal IT teams to maintain smooth payment operations. The individual will manage the end-to-end payment process, including end-of-day (EOD) activities, and ensure the seamless flow of payments across various IT systems. A strong understanding of payments, clearing & settlement, high-value payments, SWIFT, and currency payments is essential for success in this role.

We are seeking a Business IT Process Owner to manage and prioritize incidents, including emergency support, within the business area. This role requires full accountability and ownership of all incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and Manage Payment Systems: Oversee the operation of payment processing systems to ensure that all transactions are executed accurately and within designated timeframes, adhering to internal KPIs and regulatory standards.
  2. IT Coordination and Integration: Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure that payment processing systems are integrated effectively with third-party payment providers, in-house booking systems, ledger systems, and middleware. Address any technical issues promptly to maintain smooth operations.
  3. End-of-Day (EOD) Process Management: Supervise the end-of-day processing within the payment systems, ensuring that all transactions are reconciled, recorded, and reported accurately across all platforms.
  4. System Optimization and Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the payment processing systems. Continuously seek opportunities to optimize system performance and improve the efficiency of payment flows.
  5. Payment Technology Expertise: Utilize deep knowledge of payment technologies, including clearing & settlement systems, SWIFT messaging, high-value payment platforms, and currency payment processes, to enhance system capabilities and ensure robust, secure payment operations.
  6. Manage Payment Processing: Ensure that all bank payments are processed correctly and on time, following internal KPIs and industry regulations.
  7. Coordinate with Stakeholders: Foster strong communication and collaboration with business teams, third-party payment providers, and IT departments to keep operations smooth.
  8. Leverage Domain Expertise: Apply knowledge of payments, clearing & settlement, high-value transactions, SWIFT, and currency payments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  9. Process Analysis and Improvement: Conduct thorough analysis of existing IT processes. Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and design solutions for process optimization.
  10. IT Service Management (ITSM): Implement and manage ITSM best practices, ensuring that IT services meet the needs of the business and adhere to industry standards.
  11. Project Management: Lead and manage projects focused on the development and implementation of process improvements within the IT department.
  12. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units and IT teams to understand process requirements and ensure that IT processes align with business objectives.
  13. Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  14. Change Management: Facilitate change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transition and adoption of new processes and technologies across the organization.
  15. Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of IT processes. Regularly review performance data to identify areas for further improvement.
  16. Team Collaboration: Work closely with IT and business teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT process management, business analysis, or a related field within the banking or financial services industry.

Certification in ITIL, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.

Strong understanding of the banking industry’s regulatory environment and compliance requirements.

Proven track record of implementing successful process improvement initiatives.

Skills:

  1. In-depth knowledge of payment processing systems, including clearing & settlement, SWIFT messaging, and high-value payment platforms.
  2. Expertise in managing currency payments and understanding the regulatory frameworks governing financial transactions.
  3. Strong familiarity with the integration of payment systems across various IT landscapes, including in-house booking and ledger systems.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proficiency in process mapping and modeling tools.
  8. Ability to lead and manage change effectively.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with the option for remote work as specified. May require occasional travel for meetings or training sessions. Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed to meet project deadlines or resolve critical issues.
