Senior Fullstack Engineer (m/f/x) @ E-Mobility Startup

YOUR MISSION

Join Aampere, a seed‑stage, VC‑backed startup redefining the European market for used electric vehicles. Since our launch, we’ve enabled EV owners to sell their cars quickly and seamlessly within 48 hours, while giving dealers across Europe access to previously untapped customer segments.

Our team comes from the German startup ecosystem, with experience at Autarc, Greenforce, Cardino, Wemolo, Remberg, Alasco, Porsche, Mercedes, and KPMG.

Full Stack Development & Ownership: You build and own features end-to-end, from frontend to backend. You craft intuitive, accessible UIs with Next.js and React while ensuring the backend logic behind them is robust, scalable, and production‑ready.

Frontend Craft: You care about user experience. You design and implement seamless interfaces using React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, turning product ideas into polished, performant UIs that our users and dealers actually enjoy using.

Backend Engineering: You build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Nest.js. You work with PostgreSQL, design clean REST APIs, and make sure data flows reliably across our systems.

Scalability & Performance: You optimize what you build. Caching, query performance, efficient data flow. You make pragmatic decisions that balance speed with long‑term maintainability and ensure our platform stays fast as we scale across Europe.

Cross‑functional Collaboration: You work closely with Product, Design, and the rest of the engineering team to ship features quickly and reliably. You translate business needs into technical solutions with real impact.

Ownership & Technical Direction: As part of a small team currently made up of four engineers, you take real ownership of the systems you build and actively contribute to the technical evolution of our platform.

Must Have:

• Full Stack Experience: You have 4+ years of experience building production systems across the full stack, with a strong understanding of both frontend and backend architecture.
• Engineering Fundamentals: You are confident working with Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS on the frontend and Nest.js, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and Docker on the backend. You know how to build, ship, debug, and maintain reliable services in production.
• Execution Mindset: You prioritize impact. You find the fastest and most effective solution, with or without code, and you ship it.
• AI-native Development: You use AI tools effectively to accelerate software development, from prompting and validating generated code to debugging AI-generated implementations.
• Startup Mentality: You make pragmatic decisions, are comfortable with shifting priorities, and enjoy building in a dynamic startup environment.
• Communication: You communicate clearly, transparently, and effectively in English.

Nice to Have:

• Cloud & DevOps: You have experience with AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, or Linux administration.
• Scalability & Performance Optimization: You have hands‑on experience with performance tuning, caching strategies, and optimizing data flow at scale.
• Early-stage Experience: You know what it means to work in an early‑stage startup and feel comfortable in small, high-impact teams.
• Collaboration & Mentoring: You give constructive feedback in code reviews, enjoy improving engineering processes, and support other engineers in their development.
• German Skills: You ideally also speak German.
