Lead IT Operations & Infrastructure
and take ownership of our IT operations and infrastructure initiatives while helping to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across the organization. By coordinating with internal teams, IT support, and external service providers, you will drive impactful IT projects, strengthen our systems and processes, and support the continuous improvement of our digital environment. Job Goals
Ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the company
Lead and deliver IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations projects with clear business impact
Establish structure, transparency, and ownership in IT processes and systems
Reduce operational IT workload on leadership by taking end‑to‑end responsibility
Strengthen cybersecurity and governance in a pragmatic way
Enable teams through reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems and services
Define and maintain the company's IT infrastructure roadmap, including servers, networks, cloud services, cybersecurity, and workplace technology
Support IT budgeting, vendor selection, and cost management activities
Key Tasks
Oversee daily IT operations together with internal IT support and ensure clear prioritization and escalation handling
Act as main interface and coordinator for the external IT service provider
Lead implementation of IT initiatives (e.g. VPN, password manager, cybersecurity tools, MDM, backup and monitoring solutions)
Manage IT infrastructure topics such as networks, access rights, and system setup in collaboration with providers
Define and improve IT processes (onboarding, access management, device lifecycle, support workflows)
Coordinate cybersecurity measures including assessments, audits, and awareness initiatives
Manage software landscape and licenses, including engineering tools and enterprise systems
Support introduction and rollout of new software solutions across departments
Ensure documentation, transparency, and basic governance across IT systems
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through digital tools and automation
Lead, support, and develop the internal IT Support function, ensuring effective prioritization, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement
Manage and continuously optimize collaboration with external IT service providers, ensuring service quality, cost efficiency, and gradual development of internal capabilities
Strong project management and execution skills with ability to handle multiple parallel topics
Business‑oriented mindset with the ability to align IT decisions and investments with company objectives and operational needs
Structured and pragmatic approach to problem solving
Ability to translate business needs into IT solutions
Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
Hands‑on mindset with ownership mentality

Qualifications
Degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, IT project management, or similar role
Experience working with external IT service providers and managing vendors
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity principles
Experience with enterprise software and license management
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or technology environment is advantageous
Familiarity with engineering or simulation software environments is an advantage
Fluent in English; German proficiency (B2 or higher) is highly desirable due to regular interaction with local stakeholders
