Summary / Role Purpose

The R&D Engineer II (m/f/d) contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  2. Understands and employs best practices.
  3. Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
  4. Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
  5. Works under the general supervision of a development manager.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and share the integration of optimization in Ansys.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years’ experience or MS.

Working experience with in technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects. Good understanding and skills in object-oriented programming.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  1. Technical knowledge and experience with process integration of CAE/CAD simulation tools.
  2. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
  4. Willingness to familiarize with existing code and develop it further.
  5. Know-how on cloud computing technologies like micro-service architectures, RPC frameworks (e.g., gRPC).
  6. Experience with C++, Python, and front end (UI, web-app).
