Firmware Engineer

pWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer to join our Core Electronics Engineering team. The role focuses on the development of firmware for next-generation battery-operated consumer devices, leveraging modern microcontroller platforms and advanced system architectures. /ppThe successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and optimization of embedded software solutions while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external development partners. /ph3bKey Responsibilities /b /h3ulliDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize embedded firmware using the C programming language for battery-operated consumer devices. /liliDevelop firmware solutions on modern microcontroller platforms, including ARM Cortex-M and TI MSPM-based architectures. /liliContribute to firmware architecture definition, detailed design, implementation, integration, and maintenance activities. /liliPlan, develop, automate, and execute component-level and system-level verification tests. /liliAnalyse test results and collaborate with simulation, verification, and system engineering teams to refine and improve firmware performance. /liliSupport the optimization of device behaviour, reliability, and performance throughout the product lifecycle. /liliCollaborate with electronics, systems, mechanical, thermal, and test engineering teams to ensure successful product development. /liliProvide firmware development expertise across core electronic technologies and product platforms. /liliContribute to technical investigations, debugging activities, root-cause analyses, and issue resolution. /liliParticipate in code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement of development processes and engineering practices. /liliWork effectively with both internal stakeholders and external development partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. /li /ulh3bRequired Qualifications /b /h3ulliUniversity degree in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. /liliFluent in English, both written and spoken. /liliPrevious experience in embedded product development, preferably within consumer electronics, medical devices, or other regulated industries. /liliStrong hands‑on experience developing embedded software in C; experience with C++ is advantageous. /liliExperience with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS) is preferred. /liliExperience with inter‑processor communications or multi‑chip communications. /liliSolid understanding of microcontroller architectures and peripheral interfaces, including UART, SPI, I²C, ADC, DMA, timers, and interrupt‑driven systems. /liliExperience with embedded development toolchains, debuggers, and version control systems. /liliFamiliarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) environments. /liliExperience using Python and/or Bash scripting to support automation, testing, or development workflows. /liliStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills using JTAG debuggers, emulators, and simulators. /liliHands‑on laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electronic test equipment. /liliAbility to work independently while effectively communicating and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. /li /ulh3Work Arrangement /h3ulliCandidate should be located within reasonable commuting distance of the office and available for on‑site work as required. /liliMandatory presence 5 days a week on site during the first 3 months /liliThen mandatory presence 3 days per week on site /li /ulpFounded in 2007, Antaes is a Swiss management and technology consulting firm ranked among the top 10 consulting companies in Switzerland.
