Overview
In this leadership role you will own the international multimodal logistics operations between Central Europe and Central Asia, driving efficient, reliable transport and a strong customer focus. You will coordinate across rail, road and sea, serving as the central interface with customers, forwarders, carriers and terminals. The role encompasses optimizing routes, costs, service quality and overall performance while building scalable processes for growth. This is a strategic position with high visibility and impact on expansion into new corridors.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Own end-to-end international multimodal operations between Central Europe and Central Asia
- Coordinate and optimize rail, road and sea freight across the supply chain
- Monitor capacities, transit times, costs, service levels and quality
- Manage international freight forwarders, carriers, terminals and partners
- Ensure smooth transfers between transport modes and countries
- Proactively address delays, bottlenecks and capacity constraints
- Develop and implement efficient transportation solutions and alternative routes
- Procure transportation and logistics services and manage providers
- Negotiate freight rates, capacities and terms
- Establish networks with transportation and logistics partners across Europe and Central Asia
- Identify new partners, routes and procurement opportunities
- Define and monitor operational KPIs and implement improvements
- Collaborate with senior management, sales and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to establishing and growing the international transportation business
- Build scalable operational structures to support growth
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Several years in international logistics, freight forwarding, transportation management or supply chain
- Experience with cross-border transport between Central Europe and Central Asia (e.g., Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan)
- Strong knowledge of multimodal transport (rail, road, sea)
- Experience managing international supply chains and logistics partners
- Proven procurement experience for transportation and logistics services
- Strong negotiation skills with freight rates and terms
- Understanding of cost structures, capacity planning and market pricing
- Experience with international transit, customs interfaces and transshipment
- Established network of freight forwarders, carriers or logistics partners (advantageous)
- Strong organizational, coordination and problem-solving abilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset focused on cost, quality and results
- Hands-on style with decision-making under time pressure
- Language: Russian, English, German at very good or business fluent levels
- Business fluency in Russian and English essential
