We are open to internships all year round and post regularly. /ppWe’re always looking for passionate, curious, and motivated interns to join our mission. /ppThis is your chance to collaborate with world‑class experts, gain real‑world experience, and make meaningful contributions in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environment. /ph3The Opportunity /h3pWe are looking for a 6‑month intern to join our Spatial Intelligence (Perception) team and help shape how our robots perceive and interact with complex environments. In this role, your primary focus will be driving the evaluation, benchmarking, and integration of next‑generation sensor technologies. You will play a key role in evolving our sensing stack, developing and integrating robust drivers in ROS2, and bridging the gap between hardware and software. /ppThis is a highly hands‑on opportunity where you won’t just sit behind a screen; you will actively transition from writing clean code to building your own prototypes, handling the physical wiring, and testing your configurations in our local facilities. Alongside your core sensor initiative, you will assist the team with on‑demand technical challenges, gaining broad exposure to a production‑grade robotics pipeline. /ppYou will work closely with experienced robotics experts who will provide dedicated guidance and mentorship throughout your journey. The preferred starting date is July or August 2026, and this full‑time, paid internship lasts for six months. /ph3The Market Our Technology /h3pANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera‑ and LIDAR‑based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high‑quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware. /ph3Your Contributions /h3ulliDrive the evaluation, benchmarking, and testing of state‑of‑the‑art sensors (including vision, 3D/LiDAR, and acoustic technologies). /liliDevelop and integrate robust sensor drivers and communication interfaces within our ROS2 environment. /liliDeploy, test, and validate your software and hardware integrations directly on our physical robotic platforms in local testing facilities. /liliAnalyze, troubleshoot, and improve our current sensing stack to enhance data quality, reliability, and pipeline efficiency. /liliCollaborate closely with other perception engineers, assisting with ad‑hoc, on‑demand technical tasks and contributing to daily problem‑solving. /li /ulh3Your Profile /h3ulliCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. /liliSolid programming proficiency in C++ (including CMake) and/or Python. /liliA proactive, hands‑on mentality—you enjoy getting away from the screen to wire up sensors, debug hardware, and see your code run on physical robots. /liliPractical, hands‑on experience working with ROS2 and a foundational understanding of robotic perception pipelines. /liliHighly self‑coordinated and structured, with the ability to drive an independent project forward while maintaining open, proactive communication with the team. /liliFluent in English (written and spoken). /li /ulh3Bonus Points /h3ulliExperience configuring or processing data from specific sensor modalities (e.g., depth cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic, or acoustic sensors). /liliFamiliarity with containerization and deployment tools like Git and Docker. /liliPrior experience with hardware communication protocols (Ethernet, GMSL, Serial, CAN, etc.). /liliExperience with practical hardware prototyping, such as 3D printing, basic electronics, or custom electrical wiring/crimping. /liliFamiliarity with advanced perception software pipelines or algorithms (e.g., SLAM, point cloud processing, or object tracking). /li /ulh3Internship Details /h3pStart date: any time of the year and always on the 1st of the month. /ppDuration: 6 months. /ppWorkload: 100% (Full time, Onsite). /ppRequired for EU applicants: residency permit, no work permit required.
