As a Data Science Team Lead you will combine technical expertise with people leadership. You will solve complex challenges using petabytes of high-velocity sensor data shaping the future of distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) applications around the globe.
As Data Science Team Lead you will lead and grow a talented team of data scientists
- Lead, guide and mentor a high-performing data science team with full HR responsibility fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Drive hands-on product development of high-impact AI solutions ensuring alignment with product and business goals and successful market launch.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in relevant fields of AI, ML, DFOS and Intelligent Metering and actively support its adoption across projects
- Ensure technical rigor through code reviews, architecture guidance, and application of best practices in MLOps and ML engineering.
- Guide agile execution of data science projects, using structured project planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery methods.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineering teams, executive management and customers aligning with product and organizational goals.
- Implement and improve processes by following and evolving existing internal quality and product development processes.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying data science products, with 2+ years in a team lead role with HR responsibility.
- Proven track record of delivering successful AI products, preferably in sensor-heavy industrial applications.
- Demonstrated hands-on mentality with strong experience across all stages of the MLOps Lifecycle; cloud experience is a plus.
- Strong expertise in Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Signal Processing, experience in Intelligent Metering or DFOS is a plus.

- Practical experience in edge AI deployment, real-time inferencing on high velocity data and training on petabyte-scale data .
- Strong Python programming skills and solid knowledge of frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
- Strong background in agile project management, with experience in managing products from ideation to release.
- Ability to communicate complex ML concepts and results in a clear and engaging way to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field. PhD is a plus.
