Our client, an internationally operating company in the field of Retail and Artificial Intelligence, is looking for an experienced Solution Architect / Consultant to architect and further develop strategic retail initiatives with a focus on Agentic AI and Conversational AI.
In this role, you will act as the central point of contact, coordinating ongoing initiatives across different countries, tribes, and vendors, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and future-proof architecture.
Your responsibilities:- Portfolio Assessment & Transparency
- Analysis of ongoing initiatives across tribes, countries, and vendors
- Creation of a structured overall overview of all AI use cases and platforms
- Identification of overlaps, duplicate structures, and strategic gaps
- Detection of inconsistent architectural patterns
- Architecture Review & Guidance
- Evaluation of solution architectures regarding integration into existing ecosystems
- Alignment with existing platforms (e.g., data platforms, AI platforms)
- Definition and maintenance of solution blueprints in alignment with group-wide architectural principles
- Ensuring scalability, reusability, and compliance
- Strategic Alignment (AI & Retail)
- Alignment of retail initiatives with group-wide AI standards
- Close collaboration with enterprise and solution architecture at group level
- Vendor & Solution Evaluation
- Evaluation of internal vs. external solutions
- Analysis of vendor products (e.g., AI assistants, platform solutions)
- Managing build-vs.-buy decisions considering scalability, cost efficiency, and maintainability
- Executive Reporting & Decision Support
- Preparation of regular executive summaries (COO/board level)
- Development of target architectures, gap analyses, and prioritized roadmaps
- Several years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI and Conversational AI
- Experience in the banking or financial services environment is an advantage
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices, and API-first design
- Knowledge of RAG, LLM-based systems, AI orchestration, and agent frameworks
- Experience integrating AI solutions into complex enterprise landscapes
- Strong communication skills - both technical and at executive level
- Ability to influence stakeholders and sustainably establish architectural best practices
- Experience with agile working methods
- Very good English skills; German or another CEE language is a plus
- On a personal level, you impress with proactivity, curiosity, a strong sense of responsibility, and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
