Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and blood sample collection in accordance with established clinical procedures.
Correctly identify patients and verify specimen labeling to ensure sample integrity.
Prepare patients for blood collection and explain procedures to help ensure a positive patient experience.
Follow infection prevention and control protocols at all times.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions during or after blood collection and respond appropriately.
Accurately document procedures and maintain complete patient records.
Ensure specimens are stored, handled, and transported according to laboratory requirements.
Maintain clinical equipment and ensure all supplies are adequately stocked.
Adhere to local healthcare regulations, quality standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide efficient patient care.
Required Qualifications
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with an active nursing license.
Previous experience performing venipuncture and blood sample collection.
Strong understanding of infection control and patient safety practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high clinical standards.
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining quality of care.
Basic computer literacy for clinical documentation and record keeping.
Eligibility to work in Switzerland.
