The Global Connection Systems Team has an exciting opportunity for a Product Line Manager for Distribution in Europe. The successful candidate will create growth in our distribution sales by ensuring that we have the right products for our customers and are promoting these products to show the advantages of Aptiv for our partners.

Your Tasks

  • Promote our existing products to distribution customers, identifying which products best match distribution customer needs.
  • Evaluate our portfolio of traditional interconnect products to determine what additional products and/or validation is needed to increase our sales through distribution.
  • Lead the development of traditional interconnect products identified to be added to our portfolio to increase distribution sales.
  • Evaluate automotive adjacent markets and develop plans to enter these markets, determining what investment and new products would be required to be successful in these markets.
  • Review profitability of our traditional interconnects offered through distribution, obsoleting parts that are no longer needed and making sure prices provide profitable sales.
  • Support our distribution sales and applications engineering teams in pursuit of traditional interconnect sales.
  • Coordinate with traditional interconnect product line management on new products that will support both distribution and automotive markets, including Buy Aptiv initiatives.

Your Background:

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years knowledge and experience in connection systems, as well as manufacturing processes including: molding, stamping and plastic component assembly.
  • Interconnect experience in one or more non-automotive markets like commercial vehicles, agriculture, construction equipment, recreational vehicles, industrials, etc.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams across various regions.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering Management or Business.
  • 1+ years’ experience with financial cashflow calculations.
  • Leadership experience within the automotive industry.
  • Resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience working with global teams and coordinating across regions.
