Principal Engineer R&D Mechatronic (m/f/d) in Brühl

Responsibilities

• Structure and shape new mechatronic development projects from concept to series production, considering legal, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, as well as the needs of external stakeholders.
• Provide technical advice and develop solutions for mechatronics-related issues, particularly at the interfaces between hardware development, manufacturing and procurement.
• Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Production Preparation and Procurement, to ensure manufacturing-oriented product development.
• Evaluate and ensure the manufacturability of mechatronic components, including the selection and application of appropriate manufacturability assessment methods while considering cost and other commercial constraints.
• Design, implement, and maintain surface and coating technologies as part of product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical field
• Solid knowledge of mechatronic systems development as well as relevant standards and legislation.
• Experience in structuring and integrating assemblies consisting of mechanical, electronic and software components.
• Knowledge of modern development and simulation tools as well as PLM systems (e.g., CAD, FEA, thermal simulation, Teamcenter).
• Strong awareness of quality and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of common coating processes and their impact on component properties is desirable.
• Very good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
