Overview
As Cost Manager for Data Centers, you develop and steer cost and procurement strategies across the project lifecycle. You’ll support data-center and large-scale infrastructure initiatives from initiation to handover, ensuring safe, cost-effective solutions aligned with client objectives. You work closely with cross-functional teams to safeguard profitability and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering. This role offers the chance to shape major digital infrastructure while delivering sustainable, high-impact projects.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and monitor cost plans, budgets, and cost breakdown structures for data centers and large-scale infra projects
- Analyze forecasts, variances, and risks; implement measures to optimize costs
- Evaluate contracts, bids, and compensation structures; support tendering and awarding processes
- Collaborate with project management, planners, and procurement to integrate financial aspects and ensure profitability
- Prepare financial reports, cost analyses, and recommendations for senior management
- Monitor payments, invoices, and terms with suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements; contribute to value engineering
- Assist in contract negotiations, claims management, and change control processes
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ proven experience in cost and financial management of construction projects (data centers advantageous)
- Solid knowledge of contract law, tendering procedures, and procurement regulations; proficient in AHO, HOAI, and VOB
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset
- Excellent proficiency with cost management software, MS Excel (including cost modeling), MS Project
- Strong communication skills with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Agile and adaptable working style in dynamic market conditions
- Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., RICS, CIOB) are a plus
- Fluent English; German skills advantageous
