About the role:
– Responsible for procurement organization and activities at regional level within the spend of Germany
– Develop and implement purchasing strategy for the sub-category with Category Management
– Ensure that all site (plant) requirements are covered in due time with the best solution
– Work closely with internal customers across the cluster to ensure effective strategic procurement and business continuity
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase of rail transport for all types of goods from German plants, including strategy, negotiation, reports for approval, contract formalization, user training, follow-up, and continuous improvement
- Support other buyers handling deliveries to or crossing Germany from other countries
- Participate in the development of new solutions (technical or commercial)
- Support transversal team tasks
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Purchasing, or Supply Chain
- Fluent in German & English; additional European languages are a plus
- Minimum 5 years of successful procurement experience
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and comfort with numbers
- Good technical knowledge of contracts, systems, project management, and negotiation
- Leadership, communication skills, and interest in industry trends and market analysis
- Result-oriented, customer-focused, able to work under deadlines and manage change
