Position Purpose
To improve asset reliability, availability, and lifecycle cost by applying reliability engineering principles, failure analysis, and data-driven maintenance strategies.
The role focuses on eliminating recurring failures, improving maintenance effectiveness, and embedding reliability into new equipment and capital projects
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Reliability & Loss Elimination
- Identify and prioritize equipment bad actors using CMMS and reliability KPIs.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for major and repetitive failures.
- Apply Zero Loss / Defect Elimination methodologies to reduce downtime and cost.
- Define and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
- 2. Data Analysis & Maintenance Strategy
- Analyze failure data, trends, and operating conditions impacting equipment performance.
- Improve and optimize PM/Pd M strategies based on reliability findings.
- Ensure data quality in CMMS (failure modes, causes, actions).
- Track and report reliability performance (MTBF, MTTR, availability).
- 3. Capital Projects & Equipment Lifecycle
- Support capital projects to ensure reliability and maintainability are built into design.
- Participate in design reviews, commissioning, and handover to operations.
- Ensure critical spares, documentation, and maintenance strategies are defined.
- 4. Coaching & Collaboration
- Coach site teams on RCFA, reliability fundamentals, and proactive maintenance.
- Provide technical reliability support to Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering.
- Promote a structured, fact-based reliability culture.
- 5. Safety & Compliance
- Perform all duties in compliance with safety, food safety, quality, and legal requirements.
• Support investigations where equipment reliability impacts safety or quality.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent industrial experience.
- 3+ years in maintenance, reliability, or asset management roles.
- Strong experience with failure analysis and maintenance strategies.
- Proficient in CMMS (Maximo preferred).
