Plant Manager gas odorant conditioning plant Vastorf (m/f/d)
Entity:
The entire German market and neighboring countries are supplied with odorants for natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas by Arkema GmbH, Vastorf branch.
Customers in Germany are guaranteed a free nationwide collection and delivery service for containers.
The plant, which was designed in July 2000, not only enables the filling of THT (tetrahydrothiophene), the most widely used natural gas odorizing agent in Germany, but also the production of mercaptan and THT/mercaptan mixtures, which are marketed under the name Spotleak.
Another specialty of the site is odorants for liquefied petroleum gas, which are known internationally under the brand name Vigileak.
Your Tasks:
The main tasks relate to managing the facility in Vastorf, near Lüneburg. You will lead a team of five people on site. Sales activities are also part of the job description.
Plant
Ensure profitability of operation: defining / controlling fixed costs budget; constant technical improvement of equipment (investment budget). Approves plant delegated capital investment, respecting the internal delegation rules and ensures implementation of all capital investment in the plant.
Sales
Accountable for continuously growing margin on variable cost > inflation for his area. Ensures Arkema product and services are well recognized as standard at final customers & professional associations.
Your Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills with chemical engineer background (MSC level): safety and environment, asset reliability, fixed costs, capital investment and productivity control, training and potential development of employees.
- Very strong relationship skills in handling multiple year partnership with distributors and small/medium size accounts, same as trustful cooperation with local authorities.
- Good negotiations skills.
- Ability for changes & adapt quickly.
- Fluent German with fluent English mandatory.
- >3y experience handling similar products, business of products with returnable packaging fleets or gas distribution industry.
