For nearly 50 years, ARTESA SA has been supporting woodworking professionals in French-speaking Switzerland in the sale, installation, maintenance and after-sales service of woodworking machines from recognised European brands.
Our activities also include the renovation of second-hand machines as well as the assembly of extraction systems.
To strengthen our technical team, we are looking for a curious, autonomous person passionate about technology, who enjoys varied work, troubleshooting and customer contact.
After-Sales Technician – Woodworking Machines
(Desired training: polymechanic, automation technician, electromechanic or equivalent training)
Penthalaz (VD) | 90% or negotiable | Permanent contract
Your mission
After a training period, you will work both in our workshop and at our clients’ premises in French-speaking Switzerland.
Your main tasks will be:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and, depending on the equipment, hydraulic faults on a wide range of conventional and CNC woodworking machines. - Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance operations. - Install, commission and explain the operation of new machines to our clients. - Perform adjustments, calibrations and parameter settings necessary for the proper functioning of numerical controls (CNC). - Prepare machines in our workshop before delivery. - Renovate and refurbish second-hand machines. - Participate in machine assembly as well as the installation of extraction systems at our clients’ sites (occasional work at height). - Advise and assist our clients to ensure professional and quality service.

Your profile
You enjoy analysing faults, understanding how a machine works and finding the solution to quickly get it back into service.
You have:
- a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a polymechanic, automation technician, electromechanic or equivalent training; - solid mechanical knowledge; - good knowledge of industrial electricity and are comfortable reading and interpreting electrical diagrams; - good knowledge of pneumatics; knowledge of hydraulics is an asset; - an analytical mind, logic and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis; - a good sense of service and enjoy customer contact; - a category B driving licence.
Experience in troubleshooting or maintenance of industrial machines is a real asset.
The position is mainly focused on diagnosis, troubleshooting, adjustments and recommissioning of machines. It does not include PLC programming.
You are also comfortable with occasional work at height when assembling extraction systems.
