ICE Programme Senior Manager

Key duties and responsibilities

• Translate the PWT strategy into what needs to be done and develop plans for the teams to deliver.
• Lead the “Delivery Team” inside PWT, with a direct responsibility upon performance, time and cost for any PWT commodity.
• In field Quality aspects are in scope as well.
• Set the framework within which the team operates, makes decisions and achieves outcomes.
• Agree the resource and the budget requirements from the PWT Technical Functions to deliver in accordance with the Product Plan.
• Agree and maintain the overall annual budget allocation along Projects with PWT Director and EBO with the support of PWT Business Manager.
• Support the “Delivery Team” (SETs and VLMs) in front of the other Departments to guarantee the expected contribution to the Team in place.
• Co-ordinate and monitor the “Delivery Team” activities by leading the PWT Project Governance meeting on a weekly base and supported by the Business Manager Team for plans and budget management, including administrative tasks (e.g. “PCR process management”).
• Create a homogeneous approach from the different SETs and VLMs inside the “Delivery Team” and contribute to keep the organization supporting the interfunctional working approach, guaranteeing continuous improvement to the overall SET organization.
• Contributes to the PWT strategy definition as a summary of product contents, effort to deliver, resource and skills availability.

Job purpose

• Responsible for Performance / Time / Cost delivery for any XCL and Vehicle application Project through the “Delivery Team”, composed by Powertrain SETs and VLMs.
• Contributes the PWT Strategy definition, agree the resource allocation upon the Projects and manages the Project Budget allocation among the PWT programmes inside the overall PWT allocated budget.

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree qualified desirable or exceptional equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated fact based approach with attitude in problem solving and lean management of engineering teams.
• German language fluent knowledge since the increasing relationship with Mercedes looking at Next Gen developments.
• Accountable for time and cost delivery.
• Stress resilient, stay focused and give the best under pressure.
• Extensive experience of Product Creation/Engineering function in an OEM or consultancy.
• Specific automotive Product Creation experience.
• Business process improvement experience in a product creation environment.
• Attention to detail and decision making.
• Coordination of x-functional teams.
• Team leadership and strong presentation skills.
• Enthusiastic – can motivate team.
• Passionate about product and programme delivery.
• Resilient to changes in direction.
• Able to communicate positive and not positive news.
• Communicate with impact verbal and written.

• Flexibility on start and finish times due to events and different locations is required.
• Specifically, regular planned attendance to both UK and German Offices is key to monitor commodities developments happening at Mercedes plants.
• The post-holder will be required to travel to other Aston Martin sites, so a valid, current driving license is essential.
