Based in Tasmania, Work & Training offers a range of employment solutions including apprenticeship and traineeship services, permanent recruitment and short-term labour hire. It also provides a wide range of training through its Registered Training Organisation including community services, education support, children\’s services, business, hospitality and more.

The Role
The CEO is responsible for managing all organisational resources, implementation of company policies, and ensuring legal and contractual obligations are met. You will contribute to strategic planning and business planning initiatives, ensuring the development of clear objectives, and oversee regular reviews to track progress and drive alignment towards achieving those goals.

The CEO also contributes to Board reporting, attends Board meetings, and participates in Group-wide projects and initiatives, as determined in consultation with the Group CEO and Group COO (Employment, Skills and Education).

Candidate Criteria
You will be a capable and experienced leader that can ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services to clients and stakeholders, with outcomes aligned to key objectives and corporate goals. You will have / be:

  1. Demonstrated visionary leadership of a large team, fostering a positive organisational culture.
  2. Experience within the education, training and/or employment sectors.
  3. Proven ability to deliver strategic outcomes and collaborative partnerships.
  4. Demonstrated contemporary governance knowledge and application.
  5. Demonstrated financial management acumen.
  6. A high level of interpersonal skill with the ability to make formal, persuasive presentations to groups and to deal effectively with people from all segments of the community.
  7. A bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

The successful candidate will also be able to complete a number of background checks including references, police check, WWC, bankruptcy, anti-money laundering, business interest, and financial regulatory checks (at the appropriate stage in the process).
